Incredible Istanbul- an Ancient Architectural Heritage

Exploring Istanbul is a great idea to get away from the modern world to the old-world charisma. A few of the fabulous places to visit in Istanbul are the "Kapali Carsi" better known as "The Grand Bazaar of Istanbul"- considered to be one of the most ancient covered city bazaars in the world built in the 15th century. The architecture is great, with stunning, arched "streets" with paintings on the ceilings of the bazaar, which is really classical and a must see if you happen to visit Istanbul.
A treasure in the Istanbul crown is the Hagia Sophia "the pearl of Istanbul" this architectural marvel displays 30 million gold tiles all through its interior. This Awesome monument possesses elements of Roman, Byzantine & Ottoman culture & history and is definitely an intersection between the Christian and Muslim world. The ambiance, decoration and historical gems & jewelry are worth a visit. Words fell short for this 1500 years old architectural beauty, you won't believe till you see it yourself.
Another mesmerizing ancient beauty is the Topkapi Palace built by the Ottoman Sultans somewhere around mid 15th century is bewildering. Every corner of the palace is Oozing history. If you are in Istanbul don’t miss the Blue Mosque built in early 17th Century with amazing mosaics on the ceiling and walls has one main dome, six minarets, and eight secondary domes.
Only a few mosques can lay claim to have six minarets.
If you are in Istanbul take out some time for Basilica Cistern, with an inverted Medusas head, is a gem of the 6th century located just opposite of the Blue Mosque, offers an insight into the complicated system that once brought drinking water into Istanbul from Thrace. This cathedral-size cistern has an underground chamber approximately 138 meters and is a mysterious place.
There are many amazing places to visit in Istanbul and believe me each one is worth giving some time, but I have handpicked some of my favorites and all time classics for you….Enjoy Istanbul- The ancient architectural heritage. It is truly a unique cultural experience.
